NEARER MY GOD TO THEE

We love this old pattern! Stitched in a dark variegated hunter green, let this motto be a daily reminder to you to draw near to God.

*Also available with Red words and green scrollwork as in our Merry Christmas motto. Just ask!

Finished size is 8.5"X21". All of our kits include pre-stamped natural brown perforated paper, floss, gold needle, gold foil, and full instructions. Frames are not included.

  Stitching Instructions: Before you begin your motto, please read the Vintage Needleworks Stitching Guide completely. This is enclosed in your kit.   

To begin the motto, satin stitch all of the lettering using the green variegated thread included in your kit. Satin stitch all of the leaves. Using your solid green floss, stitch the fancywork, in a scattered cross stitch as shown in the picture above. A back stitch could also be used. The cross stitch gives the piece an airy feel and is how the original is stitched. The back stitch moves along more quickly and gives the background work a more prominent look. You can even add more leaves or scrollwork (this would require you to purchase additional thread).
