This is a reproduction of one of my husband's
mother's many mottos. It hangs over the fireplace in her home. This is
stitched in "Cherry Bark" variegated thread with colonial blue accents. This old
pattern has the charm of a "hand drawn" pattern...something that the computer
graphics of today just can't replicate.
*Also available in Cherry Bark and Hunter Green if you prefer
dark green scrollwork. Just ask!
Finished size is 8.5"X21". All of our kits
include pre-stamped natural brown perforated paper, floss, gold needle and full instructions. Frames are not included.
$ 48.00

Stitching
Instructions:
Before you begin your motto,
please read the Vintage Needleworks Stitching Guide completely. This is
enclosed in your kit.
To
begin the motto, satin stitch the letters of God Bless Our Home
with the cranberry floss included in your kit. Remember, stitch from the
left side of the design to the right, at a 45 degree angle. Some
stitches will be very long and others will be short. This is fine. The
"G" in God has a small diamond cutout on the left hand side that you
will want to leave empty. Do not stitch in this diamond. The scroll work
and leaves can be stitched in the blue thread, (or dark green, depending
on your kit) using a scattered cross stitch. You're done! |
